On average, ovulation occurs on day 14 of a woman's menstrual cycle (with the first day of the cycle being the first day of your period or menstrual bleeding). However, because some women may have shorter or longer cycles, the day of ovulation can vary. Many women track ovulation by looking for an increase in cervical mucus, charting their basal body temperature, and/ or using ovulation predictor kits.
