Fertility Chick: Infertility, PCOS, and my attempt to spawn life
Author: Fertility Chick
What got you started blogging?
After my husband and I were both diagnosed with fertility issues, I needed an outlet. I had been cruising infertility message boards for a while, but it didn't seem to be filling the void. Blogging gave me a chance to not only keep track of our journey, but more importantly, it gave me a voice for what I was going through.
What has been the most surprising thing about having a blog?
The most surprising thing has been the amazing community that I've found thanks to blogging. When I started, I felt like I was the only woman who was dealing with a partner with male fertility issues. It was a great comfort to find others out there who also were dealing with male factor infertility. All of a sudden I felt less alone. It was nice to be able to share information and read other's stories and realize that there is hope. I'm also amazed at how much support I have received for my little blog. I absolutely adore all of my readers - and hope that I provide support to them when I visit their blogs.
What do you hope to accomplish with your blog?
I hope that somebody, somewhere, feels less alone. Infertility can be such a lonely, isolating thing. I try and look at the world of IF with humour, sass, and honesty. I hope I reach out to others with my writing.
What’s your advice to new bloggers?
Just write! Be yourself, tell your story, and define your blog by who you are, don't worry about what others are doing.
What topics do you cover on your blog?
My blog deals mostly with infertility - specifically my PCOS and my husband's azoospermia. It documents our journey to try and start a family with donor sperm. I also blog about alternative treatments such as acupuncture and TCM. If you're looking for a way to look at infertility (and life in general) with humour and a dash of sass, I'm your girl!
Thanks Fertility Chick for lightening the loads of so many of us on our fertility journeys!
