Alyse, a former infertility patient, shares what she would do
differently if she was going through infertility treatment now. She would have tried to get pregnant sooner, researched fertility clinics better, and suggests you find a fertility clinic that has experience treating your fertility diagnosis.

Patients Speak Out
Melissa and Michael had a son using a surrogate. "I don't think there's anything to be embarrassed about. We're all human, and not every woman can get pregnant. And infertility, it happens around the world and there's nothing to hide."
For Jill, taking a break from fertility treatment meant taking 90 days to stop using fertility drugs, recharge, research, try Traditional Chinese Medicine, and live a healthier lifestyle. When she was ready to try and get pregnant, her fertility treatment worked.
It's understandable that a woman using an egg donor to have a baby will have fears and anxiety. Most women have undergone multiple fertility treatments before they decide to use donor egg . Joyce worried that she might not love her baby, and worried that her donor might want to keep the baby. But, in fact, once Joyce's baby was born, all those fears washed away.
Support for infertility, and information on fertility treatment can come from a number of sources: family members, fertility doctors and other women going through fertility treatment. It's important to seek out others to help you cope with a fertility diagnosis and treatment.
Jill went into her second IVF cycle with a completely different attitude and set of expectations; and she tuned in to her body's needs. "I went into it a lot healthier. I produced twice as many eggs. The eggs were a lot healthier. They were able to transfer four eggs back into me."
Alyse tells about the differences she encountered between large and small fertility clinics when dealing with high FSH and low ovarian reserve. Find the fertility clinic that's right for you and has dealt with fertility patients that have problems similar to you.
What are the nine months like when a surrogate is pregnant with your child? Michael handled the surrogacy paperwork and finances, Melissa communicated with and built a relationship with their surrogate.
Joyce says that women who have children through donor egg should be open about it - as she has been. "I think we're going to look at donor egg ten years down the road and realize that to keep it secret is also an archaic perception."
Prior to her successful IVF cycle, Jill considered egg donation. "One of the beautiful things of egg donation is that you can carry the child even though it's not genetically yours. You can still go through the whole pregnancy process."
