Shady Grove Fertility Center
Shady Grove Fertility Center is one of the premier fertility programs in the country, based in Rockville, MD, with fertility clinic locations throughout Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. More than 27,000 babies have been born as a result of treatment in at Shady Grove fertility clinics.
When Shady Grove Fertility was established nearly two decades ago, its founders had no idea that the practice would rise to national prominence as a Center of Excellence in the field of reproductive medicine, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and infertility. The goal of the new practice was simple — to provide cutting edge fertility care in an environment that supported patients' needs emotionally and financially and to make future decisions based on what is in the best interest of the patients. This was an innovative approach at that time, a departure from the traditional medical care model that was only addressing the physical aspects of treatment. Patients wanted then and still want this holistic, relationship-based approach from their medical care providers.
By focusing on improving patients' overall experience and pregnancy outcomes, Shady Grove Fertility found itself aligned with an ongoing commitment to excellence. Initially, ensuring a positive experience and engaging in a quest to raise the bar of success for patients meant hiring the best of the best, from physicians and laboratory directors to nurses, social workers and other health care professionals. It meant incorporating the latest medical technologies, investing in top-of-the-line equipment and medical facilities, and it meant actually creating a whole new way of paying for IVF treatment via the Shared Risk 100% Refund Plan, so more people could afford care. Shared Risk was a revolutionary concept that profoundly changed the lives of thousands of infertile couples and one that has since been adopted in some form or fashion by nearly 50 percent of the fertility clinics in the United States.
Today, the depth and breadth of the fertility program and the clinical experience of the fertility doctors and scientists at Shady Grove Fertility is unparalleled. In 2010, our fertility specialists performed thousands of “low tech” treatment cycles and IVF treatment cycles — more than any other fertility center in the country. The pregnancy results from these treatments are updated on our website annually. According to the national IVF report published by the Society of Assisted Reproductive Medicine (SART.org), our success rates have been well above the national averages for many years, and our high-order multiple births (< 1%) are among the lowest in the nation.
The evolution continues at Shady Grove Fertility, which means progressively better treatment options and outcomes for patients. This factor alone has been instrumental in establishing Shady Grove Fertility’s leadership position in the United States and made it the fertility center of choice among patients and referring Ob/Gyns in the Washington and Baltimore area.
Shady Grove Fertiliy provides first-line and advanced fertility services, from infertility consultations, basic treatments like ovulation induction, and advanced assisted reproductive technology like IVF.
