Joseph Martin, M.D., FACOG, is a fertility doctor at Fertility Center of San Antonio, a fertility clinic in San Antonio, Texas. The fertility clinic offers a bilingual Spanish-speaking team, including registered nurses, medical assistants, and billing assistants. The fertility clinic was the home to many “firsts,” such as one of the first programs to be office-based, and the first ICSI birth in the Southwest.
The medical director of Fertility Center of San Antonio, fertility doctor Joseph Martin founded the Texas fertility clinic over 20 years ago. He personally attended thousands of IVF and (GIFT) cycles, as well as thousands of cycles of ovulation induction with intrauterine insemination.
Joseph E. Martin, a native of Texas earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology in 1959 from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, and a medical degree in 1963 from the University of Texas in Galveston, Texas. He completed his internship at Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas in 1964 and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1966, where he worked in obstetrics and gynecology. Following that, he completed a three-year specialty training program in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas
In 1969, fertility doctor Joseph Martin joined the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1969 as first an instructor, and then an assistant professor in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. During this time, he completed research on the actions of hormones on the cellular level.

Dr. Martin is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is certified by the Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Methodist Hospital. Dr. Martin helped form the Fertility Program at Methodist Hospital and served as its Medical Director until 1990.
