Norbert Gleicher M.D.
Norbert Gleicher, M.D., FACOG, FCS, is a fertility doctor at the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR), a fertility clinic in New York City. Dr. Gleicher is currently the medical director of CHR-New York and a visiting professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.
Fertility doctor Norbert Gleicher founded the Center for Human Reproduction in 1981. Active in the field of infertility research, Dr. Gleicher has published hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific papers, abstracts, and textbook chapters in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. He served as the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and Microbiology and the Journal of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer, which was renamed the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics in 1992.
Dr. Norbert Gleicher currently serves as ad hoc reviewer and editorial board member for a number of other medical journals. He is active in many medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Fertility doctor Norbert Gleicher has been recognized for his contributions to the field of infertility. He was chosen by Chicago magazine, along with other organizations, as one of the “best physicians” in reproductive medicine and infertility, as well as in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Gleicher was invited to give the prestigious Patrick Steptoe Memorial Lecture to the British Fertility Society in 2009.
While Dr. Gleicher still consults with the Center for Human Reproduction’s Chicago practice, he now practices exclusively in New York City. Dr. Norbert Gleicher is fluent in German, Hebrew, and Polish.
Dr. Gleicher earned his medical degree from Tel Aviv Medical School in Israel and completed his residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Gleicher served as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, and became Chief of the Section for Reproductive Immunology.
