Dallas Fertility Clinic Success Rates

Federal law requires all fertility clinics to submit in vitro fertilization (IVF) success rates to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) annually. The CDC Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Report details the type of ART used (fresh or frozen eggs, for example), the number of cycles a clinic performed, the number of pregnancies and live births, and individual program characteristics. It takes the CDC time to compile this information and the report is issued about every three years.

The CDC report is the largest and most complete data base for fertility clinic information. The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) also publishes clinic success rates. The SART report looks at diagnosis, treatment types, and you can get national data on a specific clinic.

Looking beyond the Clinic Success Rates

Choosing the right fertility clinic is one of the most important decisions you will make in your family building experience. Spend time researching clinics. Keep the data you find in clinic success rate reports in perspective. Fertility clinics compete and want to have the best success rates. Some clinics are selective about the patients they work with to make their statistics look stronger. Talk to your physician about their success rates, particularly live births in women in your age group doing the same procedure you will undergo. Ask how many times a year this procedure is done? Make sure you’re working with a doctor and clinic whose philosophy fits yours.
