FertilityAuthority Turns 2!
It was just two short years ago that FertilityAuthority launched. As we move into our third year of being a leading web portal for people seeing information on fertility, we want to say thank you to our readers, clients and supporters.
Each year, there are 7.5 million Americans who are coping with infertility. Our vision in 2009 was to connect these infertility patients with trusted fertility doctors by providing our online visitors with authoritative, substantive content. We had one primary goal in mind — to help patients decipher fact from fiction on the web. Our other objectives included bringing a little levity to this very sensitive subject matter and to be all-inclusive so that our readers could range from a woman who has just received a diagnosis of endometriosis, to a same-sex couple searching for a surrogate to couples undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) for the first (or fifth) time. In 2011, we continue to expand that vision.
With your commitment and support, we have been able to exceed many of our goals and objectives. Last summer, we acquired the world’s largest fertility social networking site, FertileThoughts.com, and we see more than a half million women and men going to our sites every month for patient education and support. We now provide a premium content site — FertilityAuthority.com — that has more than 40,000 pages of content, including blogs, columns, message boards, videos, expert advice, fertility news and a database connecting you to fertility specialists. Our fertility social networking site, FertileThoughts.com, has 54,220 forum members, more than 350,000 total threads and almost 4.5 million posts.
Our readers, clients and supporters are an integral part of our success, and we are humbled by your participation in our 1,200 percent traffic growth within the last 12 months. In addition, our Daily Shot subscriber base has increased by 1,700 percent.
One of our ongoing objectives is to continue to be at the forefront of digital media trends. As always, we welcome your comments, questions and suggestions. And we look forward to getting to know you even better during our third year.
