Memphis IVF Success Rates

When choosing a Memphis fertility clinic, you may be tempted to compare IVF success rates of several fertility clinics. The Assisted Reproductive Technology Report, published by the CDC compiles IVF success rates for all US Fertility Clinics. In addition, member fertility clinics report their success rates to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).

The CDC ART Report lists important data for each IVF cycle including:

  • Live birth rates, meaning the number of babies born. This is more informative than pregnancy rates.
  • The number of IVF cycles, both fresh embryo transfers and frozen embryo transfers
  • Percentage of pregnancies with twin, triplets or more
  • Average number of embryos transferred
  • Infertility patient diagnosis
  • Fertility procedures

It is important to look at statistics for women in your age group.

Interpreting IVF Success Rates

IVF success rates may be misleading. Some fertility clinics institute age limits for patients or refuse to to treat women with conditions that lower their IVF success rate. Therefore, clinic comparisons are not always accurate. When viewing success rates, pay attention to the types of diagnoses treated and the success rates of women in your age group.
