North Carolina Fertility Insurance

Your road to family building through assisted reproduction can be a trying process, physically, emotionally, and financially. You may find costs add up quickly, especially since it is likely more than one course of fertility medications or more than one IVF cycle may be necessary.

Many couples turn to their health insurance plans to help cover the costs of fertility treatments. Unfortunately, many plans do not provide coverage and few states require employers to provide insurance that offers coverage.

There are around 15 states that currently have infertility insurance mandates in place that require coverage or the offer of coverage. However, unfortunately for Raleigh residents, North Carolina does not have an infertility insurance mandate in place.

Before you start your fertility treatments, it is a good idea to talk with a representative from your insurance plan, since some plans do offer some coverage.
