Infertility Insurance in New Jersey
New Jersey is one of only 15 states that has an infertility insurance mandate in place that requires insurance providers to either offer coverage or provide coverage for infertility treatments.
According to this law, insurers in New Jersey must offer coverage for medically-necessary expenses related to infertility. This includes fertility drugs, surgery, IVF, embryo transfer, artificial insemination, GIFT, ZIFT, ICSI, and four completed egg retrievals for a woman in a lifetime of coverage.
Other Ways to Pay for Fertility Treatment
For costs not covered by insurance, many patients opt for personal loans. They may also ask friends or family members to borrow money, or may apply for a special credit card for medical expenses.
