Seattle Fertility Clinic Success Rates

A helpful tool for those considering treatment at a fertility clinic is the Assisted Reproductive Technology Report. Produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the ART Report includes success rates for every clinic in the United States, along with other information like which diagnoses they treat and what IVF procedures they perform. It takes the CDC three years to compile the report.

The ART Report breaks down each clinic by the type of IVF procedure and the age of the patient. Examples of the data includes total number of cycles performed, number of live births, and number of multiple births.

Limitations of Fertility Clinic Success Rates

Fertility clinic success rates are an important tool to use when considering which clinic to choose, but they should not be considered the only one. Success rates can be somewhat misleading if they are not read carefully. Fertility clinics are very competitive about success rates, so some tend to only accept patients with certain diagnoses or of certain ages that allow for a better chance of conception. So when reading the charts, pay close attention to the diagnoses each clinic treats, and the success rates for women in your age group.

In addition to success rates, make sure you take other factors in consideration. Visit a clinic and ask questions beforehand, in order to learn more about the ethics of each clinic. Questions to ask include total number of cycles each year, any limitations on treatments, and the number of embryos that are implanted during each cycle.
