Who Is an Egg Donor?
Your egg donor can either be known to you, or can remain anonymous. You can ask a family member or friend to serve as a known egg donor. But if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, you may want to consider an anonymous egg donor. Anonymous egg donors can be matched through a fertility clinic or an egg donor agency.
Egg Donation in Idaho
If you are interested in pursuing egg donation in Idaho, you may not have to go any further than the fertility clinic. The Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine, a fertility clinic located in Boise, maintains its own egg donation program, where an egg donation coordination can help you chose the most suitable donor for you.
You also have the option of going with an egg donation agency. The Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine also works with Donor Egg Bank, USA, which offers frozen donor eggs for use in treatment.
Before you begin the egg donor process, it’s important to do your research carefully, as egg donation programs are not regulated in the state. Ask questions about what kind of screening—including physical and mental—is in place for the donors, and inquire about how long the agency has been in operation.
