What is Egg Donation?
In egg donation, an egg from a fertile woman is donated to an infertile woman for use in an ART technique such as IVF. This way, an intended mother will be able to give birth to a child, though the child will not be biologically related to her.
You can choose a known egg donor or an anonymous egg donor. A known egg donor is someone you know in everyday life, such as a friend or family member. An anonymous egg donor is recruited through egg donation agencies or programs in fertility clinics—her identity will not be known to the intended parents.
