I am stuck. I am stuck dead center in the middle of infertility No Man's Land.

Because I have been so open about my infertility journey I am often asked, "Where are you guys in the process? What's next?" Good question. The answer is absolutely nowhere! I not so lovingly refer to our current location as NO MAN'S LAND! (Technically it's No Baby's Land, but you get the point.)

What to do during our luxurious stay in No Man's Land? Well there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained like endlessly consulting Dr. Google for even the slightest of pregnancy symptoms or "re-decorating" that nursery you put together on Pinterest like 3 years ago. On the menu at this fabulous 5 star resort, lots of spinach, kale and other green leafy things. Oh and don't forget the daily concoction of supplements resembling horse pills. Unfortunately there's not a lot of alcohol here at the resort, it's frowned are carbs and pretty much anything else delicious. Sorry sister.

While you spend your days at this torturous infertility waste land pretending to idly flip through an old issue of Cosmo, it seems like life is passing you by. More pregnancy announcements on Facebook, 1 year old birthday party invites and new babies arriving every day. And here you are stuck in No Man's Land...childless and frazzled.

So when people ask me “Where we are in the process?” that’s what I want to say, but I do not. I simply put on a brave face and say we’re waiting for our baby. And that’s true. Right now we're in a holding pattern and all we can do it wait, wait, wait. Isn't that the name of the game with infertility? Whether you're in the middle of the dreaded 2 week wait or you're waiting on an appointment to see a specialist or you're simply waiting 3 minutes for your EPT to register (because we always have to take 7 to make sure the negative is really a negative) this waiting game is brutal with a capital B!

How in the world is it possible not to go absolutely mad while in No Man's Land? It sure isn’t easy, but everyday and every moment here is one step closer to meeting your baby. No matter how long you’ve been trapped here-6 months, 1 year or 5 years...take comfort in knowing that your baby is coming. Who knows exactly when it’ll be, but at this moment you are closer to being a mama than you have ever been before! All I know is I can’t wait to skip out on this popsicle stand and take up residence in Parent Land! Lord knows that won’t exactly be paradise either, but I know it’s better than here.
