Are We Eligible to Adopt an Embryo?
A blog by Embryo Adoption Awareness Center, April 16, 2015
Embryo adoption is an excellent option for anyone looking to expand their family through alternative methods, especially if you desire to add an infant child to your family. Embryo adoption allows you to experience pregnancy and childbirth! Each fertility clinic and agency that offers embryo donation or adoption develops their own guidelines for who can adopt an embryo. What varies?
- Infertility – You don’t have to have a diagnosis of infertility in order to adopt embryos. Families who already have biological children and/or adopted children have successfully adopted embryos.
- Children – Couples who already have kids in their family have successfully chosen embryo adoption to add children to their family.
- Age – It is normally the age of the woman who will carry the pregnancy that will be the limiting factor. Many clinics and agencies will set a maximum age from 45-47 years old.
- Location – Embryo adoption is available to people throughout the United States and the world!
Are you ready to get started? It’s important to do your own due diligence to explore the details of different agencies and clinics that offer embryo donation/adoption to choose the one that is right for you.
