Lady GaGa and IVF

WANTED: Italian sperm donor who prefers women who dress in outrageous outfits, including raw meat evening gowns, latex t-shirts and a headpiece shaped like a lobster.

Singer Lady Gaga once wore a dress made out of bacon. The pop queen once sported an outfit made from bubbles and later caused a fashion stir with her unique Kermit the Frog dress. But now expect to see some Italian flair added to her unusual wardrobe … maybe in the next nine months or so.

In a recent article, the singer stated that she wants to conceive an Italian baby through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Although her boyfriend — Vampire Diaries star Taylor Kinney — is not Italian, the star would like to conceive the baby using Italian donor sperm. “I want a baby from an Italian — possibly Sicilian — donor,” the singer said in a statement. She went on to say that she hopes to be a mom by the end of the year.

How celebrities get pregnant

Celebrities are a strange bunch, especially when they get pregnant.

I always wonder how actresses privately struggling with infertility can play a pregnant woman in a movie or television show. It seems like the more you have difficulties conceiving, the harder it is to be around pregnant women. I was thinking about this topic when I came across an article about actress Elizabeth Banks and her struggle with infertility.

According to the article in Lucky Magazine, Banks and her husband (Max Handelman), tried unsuccessfully to have a baby saying that “it was a womb issue … her embryos wouldn’t implant.” She later turned to surrogacy to conceive her child and became a mom to baby Felix this past year.

Welcome to 2012.

Rumor has it that sometime this year, the apocalypse might occur, Kim Kardashian might re-marry and break it off after 71 days, Justin Bieber might father another illegitimate child, and Jennifer Aniston might sport a baby bump. In the celebrity world, it’s going to be a busy year.

As for new television and movies coming in 2012, here’s what we can expect:

Kim Kardashian made headlines last week after filing for divorce only 72 days after marrying Kris Humphries. The couple dated for nine months and the wedding reportedly cost $10 million. On the bright side, at least this Reality Show couple didn’t also announce a 72-day pregnancy.

Michelle Duggar from the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" announced this week that she and husband Bob are expecting their TWENTIETH child. The Duggars' children range in age from 23 years to 23 months, with some married and children of their own. A TLC exec responded to Michelle’s 20th pregnancy by saying “Oh crap. We have to change the name of the TV show, again!”

After months of speculations, Jessica Simpson finally confirmed her pregnancy (with fiancé Eric Johnson) in an online post. Earlier this week, Simpson posted on her website “It’s true —I’m going to be a mommy.” Darn. Another celebrity who is not planning to join the infertility club. Boring!
