What the Fertility

What The Fertility is a community based on love, support and understanding for women struggling with fertility issues. WTF was created by Alexis DelChiaro who has always had a passion for storytelling. In her 10 year career in television as an anchor and host, she has prided herself on using compassion to share the joys and pains of others. Now Alexis has decided to share a story of her own, her journey to become a mother.

Alexis DelChiaro’s television career has taken her all over the country working on numerous shows and stations; KTTV’s Fox 11, KNBC’s Today in LA, KUSI’s Good Morning San Diego, KSAZ’s Fox 10, KYMA News 11, and KEYT Channel 3. Alexis has been fortunate to cover a wide range of stories in her career, from interviewing American Idols to trying out for So You Think You Can Dance to touring the Grand Canyon by helicopter. Alexis was also lucky enough to fly with the Navy’s prestigious Blue Angels, as well as skydive with the elite US Army Golden Knights.

Her greatest adventure yet…trying to become a mom. 2 miscarriages, 5 rounds of Clomid, 1 IUI, 3 rounds of IVF and still no baby. For more on Alexis' journey go to, @WTFertility on Twitter and @AlexisDelChiaro on Instagram.

The New Year is all about new beginnings. The hope that this year will be better than the last, a clean slate to start anew and for us gals struggling with infertility, 12 chances to get the heck off this IF island. I'd like to think my new beginning will come in the form of a growing baby bump (crosses fingers) and hopefully it will...someday. But like any realistic and slightly bitter infertility warrior, I am well aware that it could be awhile before there's a crying baby in my empty nursery. Soooo in the spirit of personal growth, inner peace and fresh starts; I give you my 5 Fertility Resolutions for the New Year.

Dear Santa,

It's been a while since I've written a letter to you on Christmas. The last time I remember reaching out was sometime in the 80's when all I wanted was a pair of hot pink and white roller skates. I wrote you a letter in my fanciest Magic Marker penmanship and left you a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies. The next morning as I furiously unwrapped packages in pristine red and green paper, you did not let me down Santa. Those beautiful new roller skates under my Douglas Fir were proof that Christmas is truly magical.
