Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Makes the News

Did you catch the news on MSNBC last night? No? Too busy watching Must See TV? Gotcha. That's ok -- the internet is magic and you can catch their overview of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) on their website right here: Diagnosing Health Conditions Before the Womb.

This is hot on the heels of a recent announcement that PGD (called Embryo Biopsy in this story) is safe:

The largest and longest running study of children born after preimplantation genetic diagnosis and screening has shown that embryo biopsy does not adversely affect the health of babies born as the result of a subsequent singleton pregnancy.

This is great news for the many couples who look to PGD for help in getting pregnant with healthy babies.

There are quite a few bloggers willing to share their experiences with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and PGD and we've grabbed a few to get you started:

Of course you should also check out our IVF support group. We're adding group functionalities all the time so stay tuned and keep checking back as we roll them out!
