How Celebrities Get Pregnant
a blog by Infertile Naomi, February 28, 2012
Celebrities are a strange bunch, especially when they get pregnant.
They have a baby and lose the weight all in one week. They purchase their own ultrasound machines. And they like to give their babies odd sounding names. Right little Blue Apple?
But like us, when they want to get pregnant nothing will stand in their way. Here are some fertility tips from celebrities who managed to get pregnant in some unconventional ways.
Somebody, Please Wash Those Steps!
When Susan Sarandon, who was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, struggled to get pregnant in the 1980s, she went to Italy to visit the 300-year-old Spanish Steps in Rome. We’re not sure what exactly happened on those steps, but nine months later, her daughter Eva was
When asked to comment, her daughter would have probably replied: “Gross mom. I am never walking on those stairs.”
Water Cooler Talk with Nicole Kidman
When Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, the two superstars had trouble conceiving. They later adopted two children and went on to
marry other people. The 44-year-old actress attributed her unexpected pregnancy to swimming in the Australian Outback Waterfalls.
The actress claimed that “there was something up there in the Kununurra water because seven babies were conceived during filming, and all went swimming in the waterfalls.” If you can’t afford fertility treatments, try going for a swim. Of course, after paying for flight and hotel in Australia, it might be cheaper to do IVF anyway.
Can I get a Needle in My Belly?
Acupuncture for fertility is very popular. Research claims that it actually helps promote fertility and can improve your chances of getting pregnant. Singer, Mariah Carey, did "once-a-day acupuncture all over her body" when she was trying to conceive. Celine Dion received acupuncture treatment during her six IVF cycles.
Personally, I did acupuncture during all four of my IVF cycles and only got pregnant on my last cycle. Just make sure you go to a qualified
acupuncturist. If she sticks the needles where the sun don’t shine, you may want to run out of that office.
Jamie Lynn Spears: What’s Birth Control?
When Britney Spears' little sister got pregnant, she was only 16 years old. Her secret to getting pregnant? She didn’t use birth control. Many of us have been off birth control for years and still aren't pregnant.
Not that helpful advice, Jamie Lynn.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not
In the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum in Orlando, Florida, sits a fertility statue. The statue is considered a fertility symbol in Africa and is claimed to help 2,500 couples conceive after touching it. Where exactly are you supposed to touch this fertility statue? I’m not sure.
