A Daily Green Smoothie for Fertility

One of the best ways to get a good dose of nutrient rich green vegetables is to enjoy a green smoothie daily. Green smoothies are not only good for fertility, but the high chlorophyll content, called the “blood of plants”, balances your blood sugar and helps to reduce your toxic load. In Victoria Boutenko’s Green for Life, she details how increasing the amount of green vegetables in one’s diet will improve the levels of hydrochloric acid in the gut leading to decreased inflammation, improved digestion and energy.

By using a powerful blender, like a Vitamix or Blendtec, the cellular wall of the greens are broken down, helping our bodies to absorb more nutrients. Green smoothies are slightly different from juicing because they use the entire vegetable, which increases your fiber intake. In Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Juices and Succulent Smoothies, she recommends using a 3:1 ratio of vegetables to fruits to maximize the alkalinizing effects of your green drink. Here is a delicious and simple recipe to get you started:

1 cup of blueberries
1 banana
3-4 chard or kale leaves without stems
1 cup of water or coconut water
Wash your ingredients, place in blender, pulse until completely liquefied and drink fresh.
