The Reproductive Medicine Community
a blog by Michelle Ottey, PhD, Director of Operations, Fairfax Cryobank and Cryogenic Laboratories, Inc., November 8, 2010
Last week I attended the Annual American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Conference in Denver, Colo. It was a wonderful experience during which I made contact with various professionals involved in reproductive medicine.
The ASRM conference draws reproductive endocrinologists and other physicians, nurses, midwives and exhibitors from various companies relevant to reproductive medicine. We had a booth with information about the sperm donation, sperm donor products, sperm banking services, and storage services. Many physicians approached our booth, some of whom we have known and worked with for many years and some of whom we will work with to develop relationships.
I spoke to several colleagues about sperm banking and about sperm donors. Overall, there is a shared priority of meeting the needs of the patients and of their resulting donor insemination offspring. The compassion, concern, dedication and innovation at the conference were inspiring.
Next week I will be participating in a meeting with senior management wherein we will look at our services, our sperm donor program, and our available resources and innovation. Evolving to meet the needs of our patients is our priority.
I feel even more confident that the reproductive professional community is one of caring, respect and quality.
