Fertility Treatment Decisions

Once you have made the decision that it is time to see a fertility doctor and you've had your fertility work-up, now comes the hard part — figuring out which fertility treatment is right for you.

Sometimes the answer is clear cut; for example if your fallopian tubes are blocked, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is probably the best option. But if you are having problems ovulating or your fertility is unexplained, it might be better to try some first-line fertility treatments, such as ovulation-inducing drugs with or without intrauterine insemination (IUI). In addition, you may need to surgery if you have a condition such as fibroids or endometriosis. And if your gametes are not viable, there are the third party reproduction options to look into, such as egg donation, sperm donation and gestational surrogacy.
