Go Ahead! Have Some Chocolate!
Although it’s always wise to watch your diet when trying to conceive, we all sometimes need to indulge in something sweet. If you need a sugar fix while going through an IVF cycle (and really, who doesn’t?), grab yourself some high quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa content or higher).
Dark chocolate (which is a “good” fat), has terrific benefits for fertility. Chocolate contains flavonoids and arginine which can elevate your mood and promote blood flow to the uterus and ovaries specifically. Research has also shown that the mere smell of chocolate can increase the brain’s theta waves, which can help you relax. Relaxing is always an ideal thing to help get you through the stresses of infertility.
And let's not ignore the best thing about chocolate: it's tastes delicious!
