Go Yellow for Endometriosis Awareness

March is National Endometriosis Awareness Month. Yellow ribbons are the fashion accessory to show support for endometriosis awareness, and you can order them free from the Endometriosis Association.

Endometriosis is a common health problem for women that affects at least 6.3 million women in the United States, according to the Endometriosis Associaton. Symptoms can include:

  • Painful menstrual cramps
  • Chronic pain in lower back or pelvis
  • Pain during or after sex
  • Intestinal pain
  • Painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods
  • Spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods
  • Infertility
  • Fatigue
  • Diarrhea, constipation, bloating, or nausea, especially during menstrual periods
