Helen Gurley Brown's Lessons in Strength
Helen Gurley Brown, the Cosmopolitan magazine editor for three decades, recently passed away at the age of 90. She was a pioneer for women in journalism and in feminism.
She once said that her objective was to teach Cosmo’s readers, ''how to get everything out of life -- the money, recognition, success, men, prestige, authority, dignity.''
Whenever you’re going through any kind of fertility treatments , an IVF Cycle or when you’ve unfortunately received a negative beta , it’s so easy to feel frustrated, hopeless or simply unmotivated to continue. Helen Gurley Brown was a champion though when it came to encouraging women to go for what they want and so, here are some of her best quotes when it comes to finding your inner strength and sense of determination. I sincerely hope it offers you inspiration!
“What you have to do is work with the raw material you have, namely you, and never let up.”
"Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere.”
“Nearly every glamorous, wealthy, successful career woman you might envy now started out as some kind of schlep.”
“I was mousy on the outside but inside I'm this tiger and I have to get on with it.”
"I hope I have convinced you... the only thing that separates successful people from the ones who aren't is the willingness to work very, very hard."
"I care. I care a lot. I think of Cosmopolitan all day, and I run scared. So it's a combination of fright, caring and anxiety."
And remember that you can always find support, strength and motivation at FertileThoughts!
