Sperm on Board ...
Anyone wearing a sperm costume to a Halloween party tonight? No? Well, if you're interested in all things sperm, there's quite a bit of innovation coming out of Northern Europe.
First, a researcher in The Netherlands developed a "fertility chip" that can accurately count sperm and measure their motility, a development that can lead to more accurate testing in the privacy of one's own home. But even more high profile is the replica of Denmark's "sperm bike" now turning residents' heads in Seattle as it transports semen from sperm bank to fertility clinic.
"You put a giant sperm on a bike, and you're going to get some attention," Seattle Sperm Bank's Gary Olsen told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

And in the spirit of equality, we would like to see some attention paid to the egg in the near future. Perhaps the development of an "eggped" (egg-shaped moped, not the Ped Egg pedicure) to transport frozen eggs and embryos in an environmentally-friendly way.
