In her latest blog, How James Taylor Put My Infertility into Perspective, Shana Kurz writes how her journey from newlywed through infertility to having babies was put into perspective by the familiar sentimental songs of music legend James Taylor.
It prompted us to think about how some of today's pop songs could help us when TTC, not necessarily in the romance or bedroom — and maybe not as a soundtrack for putting everything in perspective — but more as a … well, a battle cry. I mean, why should the teenagers get to have all the fun? We're entitled, too.
So we took a few liberties with the lyrics of some of today's most popular songs to make them TTC Anthems:
Sung to the tune of "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry
"I'm wide awake, and now it's clear to me, that a baby should, be here keeping me, wide awake"
Sung to the tune of "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen
"Hey, I'm on Clomid, and I'm not crazy, I'm ovulating now, let's make a BABY!"
Sung to the tune of "Red Solo Cup" by Toby Keith
"Red solo cup, you're just not enough, don't want to party, I want a baby ..."
