Bye Bye Birth Control!
When you start trying to have a baby, it’s time to say goodbye to your birth control pills you are using! Finally, you can say adios to birth control and hello to your new venture — unprotected baby-making sex!
It might feel strange to toss those pills aside; after all, you have probably spent years trying NOT to get pregnant and now the time has arrived when you can throw caution to the wind!
So ... you took your last pill, and you're thinking: Now what? Just don't expect to get pregnant the second you stop taking birth control pills.
Did you know that, on average, it may take several months to conceive after stopping birth control? Just like stopping other medications, your body may need time to adjust to your hormones, get a regular period, and kick start ovulation.
Don’t be discouraged if nothing happens right away! Give your body time to regulate itself, and in the meantime, just have a little fun. Practice makes perfect, right?
If you notice after 6 months (if you are over the age of 35) or after one year (if you are under the age of 35) that you still haven't gotten pregnant, give our Patient Care Advocates a call at 855-955-BABY (2229) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. They can help you connect with a trusted fertility doctor in your area.
