Failed IVF Cycle? Follow These 3 Steps to Have a Baby Sooner
If you’ve recently experienced a failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle, you might be feeling confused about how to proceed with treatment. Here are three things to consider to proactively treat infertility and have a baby sooner:
- Consider a laparoscopy. Some doctors suggest that laparoscopy can uncover missed diagnoses in up to 90% of unexplained infertility cases. Also, laparoscopies can give a clearer picture of what’s going on in your uterus and on your ovaries (fibroids, scar tissue from endometriosis, etc.) than a transvaginal ultrasound.
- Question your IVF protocol. If you have shown poor response or have developed Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) as a result of a particular protocol, like Lupron Down Regulation, you should talk to your fertility doctor about other courses of treatment.

- Get a second opinion. This isn’t like “breaking up” with your fertility doctor. They are medical professionals and understand how delicate of a topic your fertility is. You might find a fertility doctor who takes a more natural treatment approach, or conversely, one is more aggressive in the way they treat infertility. Contact our Patient Care Coordinators at 1-855-955-BABY (2229) to find out more information about fertility doctors in your area and to connect with your fertility doctor match.
When it comes to your fertility, time is of the essence. Take action and give yourself the best chance of having a baby.
