Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Barren Betty
The blog we’d like to feature this week is Barren Betty!
Betty has been trying to conceive for almost three years. She has been diagnosed with severe endometriosis and her husband has low sperm motility. Her first failed IVF cycle started in March 2013 and was cancelled at the end of April when she didn't respond to the drugs properly. The cycle was further delayed when she grew a cyst on her ovary. Despite several setbacks and understandable frustrations, she has maintained her sense of humor, is back on the IVF horse and currently awaiting egg collection this Friday. I know you'll join us in wishing her luck!
She started blogging because she felt quite lonely. She didn’t know anyone in real life who was struggling with infertility and she was desperate to find information and connect with other people who were going through it too.
Betty says, “I've found loads of helpful, kind, witty, normal, lovely people who are battling infertility too. I also quite like showing off and it provides me with an excellent outlet for telling jokes and drawing cartoons where nobody can tell me to be quiet, nobody can tell me to stop and I can't hear the deafening silence when my jokes fall flat!”
Betty hopes that people can find some comic relief from her blog and adds, “ I hope my blog helps to bring a bit of cheer to someone's day.”
