Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Childless Not Hopeless

The blog we’d like to feature this week is Childless Not Hopeless.

Laura and her husband have been trying to conceive since 2010. She got pregnant for the first time in February 2011, but sadly that pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage. Laura got pregnant again in October 2011 and that pregnancy ended with an ectopic pregnancy. She and her husband started seeing a fertility specialist and began their first cycle of intrauterine insemination (IUI) in October 2012. Upon that IUI cycle's failure, Laura’s husband decided to undergo a semen analysis to check his fertility. The results were poor and in May 2013, he underwent surgery for a varicocele correction. Laura and her husband were finally able to conceive and she is currently 7 weeks, 2 days pregnant.

“I started the blog because I was incredibly sad and wanted to get all of my feelings and what I was going through out in the open. I also wanted to maybe help other women who were in the same shoes as me,” Laura says. She hopes that her readers feel that they are not alone. Even if they do not have infertility, Laura hopes her readers can relate to her as a person and get a true sense of who she is, that she will never give up, and that perhaps they will help their friends or loved ones who struggle with infertility by introducing them to Childless Not Hopeless.
