Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Fertile Healing

The blog we’d like to feature this week is Fertile Healing

Tonya and her husband were thrilled when they found out that they were going to be parents for the first time after trying to conceive for only one month. 8 weeks and 1 devastating miscarriage later, they knew that something was terribly wrong. Shortly after, a 4-year battle with infertility ensued. After 3 unsuccessful intrauterine insemination (IUI) treatments and 1 round of in vitro fertilization (IVF), 11 out of 19 eggs were fertilized and 8 became frozen embryos. However, the discovery of a polyp in Tonya’s uterus put all treatment on hold until after its removal. In October of 2011 she had her first frozen embryo transferred and on November 7th she received the call that made her entire battle worthwhile – Tonya was finally pregnant. In July of 2012 her dream of motherhood came true in the form of a beautiful baby girl.

Like countless other women, Tonya’s blog became a safe place for her to cope and find meaning throughout her 4 year battle with infertility. Soon after, she realized that her blog Fertile Healing could inspire and instill hope in other women who were fighting their own battles with infertility. She explains, “I wanted my blog to be a place that women could come to on any given day and find something that would make them smile, lift the heartache, or inspire them to go out and live with hope.”
