Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Laughter Really is the Best Medicine

The blog we’d like to feature this week is Laughter Really is the Best Medicine.

Prior to getting married, Barb was on birth control pills to help control her Endometriosis. In February of 2013 she was rushed to the hospital for an emergency laparoscopy due to a leaking cyst on her ovary. Complications from the laparoscopy landed Barb in the hospital for 3 weeks. Doctors explained that it might be hard for her to get pregnant on her own. Currently, She is on 100mg of Clomiphene. The doctor suggested that they consider IVF if the medication is unsuccessful. Barb and her husband will find out the next steps necessary in order to conceive in May.

Initially, Barb began writing in a diary as a way of coping with her Endometriosis. Shortly after, a few friends suggested that she publish her diary to help women with dealing Endometriosis. Ultimately, Barb decided to type her diary into her blog. Her goal is to let others that suffer from Endometriosis know that they are not alone in their struggles. She states, “I hope that my readers will learn a bit about Endometriosis and how it affects those who suffer from it and their families.”
