Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Metholic Blog

The blog we’d like to feature this week is Metholic blog.

Chandra’s infertility journey started off as concern over irregular cycles. After 5 rounds of Clomid, doctors discovered that her husband had varicoceles. This condition pertains to varicose veins in the groin area that cause an excess of blood to flow to the groin, which increases temperature and prevents the proper production of sperm. In 2010 they were able to get pregnant through the process of IVF but tragically lost the pregnancy on Christmas day. The couple decided to take a break and her husband had surgery to remove the extra veins. Shortly after, the couple was shocked to find out that they had conceived naturally! Miss Stella Joan was born in June of 2012. Chandra is currently struggling to conceive a second child but remains hopeful. They are currently considering IVF.

Chandra’s motivation for starting her blog was the fact that she is a pastor's wife. She feels as though the stigma of infertility is magnified in the ministry culture. She had to tell her story and wanted to find an outlet from all the (well meaning) church people telling her that God wouldn't give her more than she could handle. She hopes her readers are able to see what her life is like. She explains, “What my life is like, infertility and all. Also I'm hilarious and have a surprisingly strong tendency to curse for a pastor's wife.”
