Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Not when, but IF
The blog we’d like to feature this week is Not when, but IF.
Simple is the last word Lora would use to describe her infertility journey. She began trying to conceive in early 2010 at the age of 26. Since then, Lora has struggled with irregular periods, a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism, PCOS, endometriosis of the bowel, tubes and ovaries, two clomid cycles, an ectopic pregnancy, and one miscarriage. She is currently preparing for an IVF cycle in the fall. This will be her last effort before she embraces a child-free lifestyle.
Lora’s blog Not when, but IF is a closer look into the truths and hardships that women with infertility issues must face. She hopes that her readers will realize “that they are not alone.” Her blog aims to send a specific message “I hope they appreciate (if not always totally understand) the uncensored and oftentimes quite raw emotional place that I write from. Established as a sanity-saving diary of sorts, I hope they understand that there is no one right or wrong way to experience infertility.”
