Fertility Authority’s Blog of the Week: Still A Mamma Wannabe
The blog we’d like to feature this week is Still A Mamma Wannabe.
Mr. and Mrs. Wannabe (as they refer to themselves) have been trying to conceive for over five years. Mr. Wannabe has a sperm DNA fragmentation issue which means they will most likely have a lower fertilization rate and a higher chance of chemical pregnancy and/or miscarriage. However, their fertility doctor thinks that with Mr. Wannabe’s high number of motile sperm, normal morphology and productive amount, they will be able to make some viable embryos since there seems to be no issue with Mrs. Wannabe’s eggs.
So far, they have had 4 failed IUIs, 3 on Clomid and 1 with Bravelle and Clomid. They will soon be doing their first IVF with ICSI.
Mrs. Wannabe started this blog as a therapeutic art form, writing is as a journal to help her process IVF as well as document everything for the future. She also found other people's blogs to be very helpful. She wanted to add her story to the world so that others who may be going through similar infertility struggles might learn something or feel comforted knowing they are not alone in this process.
Mrs. Wannabe adds, “Blogging connects people in many different situations in many different parts of the world, is therapeutic and is a great way to make friends who understand what you are going through.”
