The Infertility Blame Game

Honey, my mother thinks it’s all YOUR fault we’re not pregnant yet.

If you’re struggling to conceive, who is to blame? The quick answer is NO ONE. You wouldn’t blame someone for having a medical condition, so why would you cast blame (or feel guilty) for something that is beyond your control?

Blaming your partner for infertility issues can negatively affect your relationship and lead you to feelings of resentment, guilt and anger. This is the time when you need to support one another instead of casting blame or feeling guilty.

It is not your fault you suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). It is not his fault he has male factor infertility. However, you could be at fault if you let this affect your relationship.

You need each other during this time so don’t let yourself or your partner play the blame game.
