Pregnancy after Infertility
Even if it doesn’t always feel this way, there is life — and even pregnancy — after infertility.
Maybe you’ve just received a big fat positive after a fertility treatment, or you are just a few week pregnant. You expect to feel a big sigh of relief, right? But that’s not always the case.
It’s very common to feel a sense of anxiousness once you get pregnant after infertility. Many women who conceived after fertility treatments or miscarriage reported feelings of fear and nervousness. After months or years of disappointment and negatives, some felt the positive result was almost too good to be true. Others felt that they shouldn’t complain about their pregnancy symptoms, even if they felt terrible.
There are many books to tell you what to expect when you’re expecting, but not as many that tell you what to expect from pregnancy after infertility. All we can tell you is to breathe, try to relax and know that your feelings are very common.
