Will Frozen Embryos Get You Pregnant?
If you and your partner have experienced several failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, perhaps you should put your “babies” on ice. More and more evidence is surfacing in favor of freezing embryos to be transferred in a subsequent cycle, making frozen embryos a hot commodity.
Research has shown that the average cycle of fertility drugs can be detrimental to the cushy uterine lining needed for successful implantation. Higher levels of hormones are needed to maximize the number of eggs retrieved, but can increase risk of complications from Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) and decrease the chance of implantation.
So, why not ask your fertility doctor about freezing your embryos and taking some time off to pep-talk your uterus?
