In U.K., Fertility Treatment Doubles in 15 Years
An increase in the awareness of fertility treatment, a rise in infertility and new techniques that can treat more problems have boosted the number of treatments being carried out in the U.K. In 1992, when record-keeping began, only 14,057 women received IVF treatment; this rose to 36,648 women in 2007, according to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
