Georgia IVF Center Suspends In Vitro Program, Unable to Account for Embryos

An embryo mix-up is now forcing Ochsner Health System to suspend its in vitro fertilization program in Elmwood, a suburb of New Orleans.

He says an internal audit brought into question, the overall reliability of the IVF program.

In vitro fertilization is the process where a woman's egg and man's sperm are joined in a laboratory, than implanted in the mother.

"We have reason to believe the IVF center has been compromised due to what appears to be a significant labeling issue which makes us unable to account for all of the frozen embryos in our IVF Center," said Quinlan. Read more.
