Don't Blame IVF for Rancic's Cancer, Experts Say

Giuliana Rancic’s recent diagnosis of breast cancer at age 36 has generated a lot of emotional support for the E! host — and some worries about the connection between fertility treatments and the disease. Despite the concerns, there has been no evidence linking IVF treatments to a heightened risk of breast cancer in healthy women, according to Dr. Mark Perloe, medical director at Georgia Reproductive Specialists. It’s even possible that IVF might be protective.
