Discount Fertility Treatment Program for Self-Pay Patients

FertilityAuthority,  Mar 23, 2013

A company that provides infertility management programs for employers and insurers has a new discount program for self-pay fertility patients: the WINFertilitySM Quality Discount Treatment Program.

The program is designed for people who do not have infertility insurance and provides consumers with discounts of up to 50 percent on medical services and fertility drugs. Through the program, infertility patients have access to the same evidence-based clinical protocols and cost savings as large insurers and employers on fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The program seeks to make high quality treatment more accessible to all who need it but have no coverage or who have exhausted their benefits. In today's economy, many who are diagnosed are trying to build their families via less expensive treatments; however, the less expensive treatments are less effective and much riskier in terms of high-order multiples. The WINFertility Program makes the most effective, high-tech treatments more affordable, so more people can safely become parents.

Currently, the WINFertility Quality Discount Treatment Program is being offered in five states. Patients can enroll in the treatment program directly through WINFertility. Typical patient savings per fertility treatment cycle can range from $5,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on treatments and fertility drug doses required. In addition, participants have access to WINFertility's Fertility Coach NursesSM around the clock for education and care coordination, a medical advisory board made up of leading reproductive endocrinologists and financing programs at preferred rates.

Illinois

In Illinois, the program is available in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs through Reproductive Medicine Institute (RMI). “In this volatile economy, we know that those who struggle with infertility, but have no insurance coverage for treatment have an added financial challenge in pursuing parenthood," says John Rinehart, M.D., Ph.D., J.D., and Founding Member of RMI. “We are pleased to offer this unique program that provides both quality, advanced fertility care and medications at a much more affordable price. We believe this is exactly the kind of help that patients need today."

W. Paul Dmowski, MD, PhD and Founding Member of RMI commented, “Included in the RMI mission is providing excellence in infertility treatment to all patients, particularly those with challenging cases. The WINFertility Program has a similar approach. Unlike other programs, there is no age or clinical criteria to qualify for enrollment, so that all patients who are recommended for treatment can participate. That means we will be able to help more patients have a family and that is the very reason RMI was founded.”

Minnesota

The WINFertility Quality Discount Treatment Program is available in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas through Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates (RMIA).

“A cornerstone of our practice has been our recognition of and attention to the financial challenges associated with advanced fertility treatment,” says Jacques Stassart, M.D., founder and medical director of RMIA. “As pioneers in providing affordable treatment solutions for patients, we are very pleased to be able to offer this unique program that includes medical care and infertility drugs. Medications comprise approximately 30 percent or more of the total cost of treatment. Being able to deliver significant discounts, in addition to quality care will enable us to help more people become parents. In this challenging economic environment, patients need all the help they can get.”

Florida

The WINFertility Quality Discount Treatment Program is available in South Florida, exclusively through South Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SFIRM).

“We have treated patients in South Florida for more than 20 years,” says Juergen Eisermann, M.D., founder and medical director of SFIRM, “and we are so pleased to be able to offer this innovative program, particularly in this difficult economic climate. We think it will make a big difference to people who desperately want a family but struggle with cost. The inclusion of both treatment and medications for a single, discounted price simplifies what is already a challenging situation for infertility patients.”

There are no age or medical criteria required to enroll in the WINFertility program; however,

  • The patient must be seeing a fertility doctor in WINFertility's network of contracted, credentialed fertility doctors.
  • Fertility treatment must be indicated by the participating provider, and the patient.
  • The patient must have no infertility insurance.

Patients enrolled in the program also have access to WINFertility’s FertilityCoach NursesSM on a 24/7 basis for education and care coordination.

New York

WINFertility, Inc., has also expanded its consumer offering to the New York area. The expansion is designed to increase the availability of affordable, advanced fertility care that remains financially out of reach for many New Yorkers facing infertility today who are without advanced infertility insurance coverage.

The WINFertility program is available in greater New York through River View Fertility, in collaboration with Offices for Fertility and Reproductive Medicine (OFRM). “By combining the forces of our two practices, our intent is to expand access to personalized, high quality fertility treatment" says Jesse Hade, M.D., founder of River View Fertility. “The WINFertility Program is a perfect complement, enabling us to offer treatment and medications at a much more affordable price. Living in New York can be a challenge — this is a new way that we can give patients a financial break that is sorely needed in this economy."

Georgia

At the beginning of 2012, WINFertility, Inc., expanded it program to the metropolitan Atlanta, GA, area through Georgia Reproductive Specialists. “The GRS team has long believed that the challenging economic environment should not limit access for couples seeking solutions to their fertility problems," says Mark Perloe, M.D., Medical Director of Georgia Reproductive Specialists. “We initiated a breakthrough program in Georgia called No Hidden Fee IVF that includes all medical and laboratory procedures that are part of a typical IVF treatment cycle. We were not able to include medications and pharmacy distribution.”

According to Perloe, “By partnering with WINFertility, GRS patients have unique access to a discounted, bundled package that includes both IVF treatment and medications at a much more affordable price, so more people will be able to pursue their family-building dreams. The addition of the WINFertility Treatment Program reinforces the Georgia Reproductive Specialists’ philosophy of providing affordable treatment. We expect it to be a terrific partnership and deliver added value to our patients.”

Texas

In the summer of 2012, WINFertility, Inc., expanded its program to the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, area as its sixth major U.S. market. The program is available through Advanced Reproductive Care Center (ARCC).

"By partnering with WINFertility, ARCC patients have unique access to a discounted, bundled package that includes both IVF treatment and medications at a much more affordable price so more people will be able to pursue their family-building dreams," says Sy Le, M.D., HCLD, founder of ARCC. "The addition of the WINFertility Treatment Program reinforces the Advanced Reproductive Care Center's philosophy of providing affordable treatment. We expect it to be an excellent partnership and provide added value to our patients.
