New IVF Advances Give Birth to Hope
Killara mum Louise Jackson had almost given up all hope of having another child when she became one of the first in NSW to fall pregnant. After six failed IVF cycles and a miscarriage, Ms Jackson doubted she would ever conceive again until her doctor suggested she try the practice known as Advanced Embryo Selection. The technology, pioneered by IVF Australia and sister clinic Melbourne IVF, allows lab doctors to remove a single cell from the fertilised embryo and screen all 24 chromosomes before implantation.
