Be Warned!

This was a COLD and PAINFUL experience with unprofessionalism. They did the first IUI wrong... the specimen that I purchased from a cryobank, all came out right after the procedure. The second time I came in, they said that's not possible. There was no communication. Throughout the entire process. I've been trying to get pregnant for 10 years and these idiots didn't think to do am HSG or sonohystergram or any genetic testing. The day I got pregnant, they only then told me that I HAD TO HAVE PROGESTERONE AND HEPRIN that day or I would have a miscarriage... Those two prescriptions were over $700 ... they never told me about needing it. That's serious money that needs to be planned for!!!! Do not ever ask questions or voice any options or they will call you hostile and threatening. DR. Bruce is a joke and not a single person cares there. My second IUI ended in a miscarriage so, good times. These people are so hirrible and just stole all this money for nothing. Be warned. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Horrible Service

Stay away! Their staff made numerous mistakes, and Dr. Ambler is horrible.

First off let me start of by saying Dr. Albrecht is lovely! He is compassionate and kind and really listens to his patients. That being said, I am no longer seeing him. I feel that I didn't receive optimal care at the clinic which ended up messing up my cycle and delaying my IVF. I also don't agree with their insurance billing practices. They will always bill an office visit regardless of what you come to the office for or who you see. This practice makes it so you have to pay an office co-pay regardless of coming in for just a blood draw. I would never tell anyone not to go to this office but they are quite disorganized. I think there are much better clinics in Colorado that offer more organized, efficacious care.

So thankful for Albrecht Women's Care

My husband and I went to two other fertility clinics in the Denver area prior to being referred to Dr. Albrecht. At the first clinic we were told we had a 1-5% chance of conceiving and told that I (at age 36) had started menopause and that I could try things like acupuncture and herbs but that the chances of it working were very small and we would likely need to use donor eggs. At the second clinic, I was told that there is "no way to improve egg quality." A week later that clinic's blood test revealed my egg quality had already significantly improved from only one month of acupuncture and herbs. That clinic then told me I would need to do six months of Clomid and HCG injections before they would even consider IUI for me. My acupuncturist then suggested I contact Albrecht's Women's Care. My husband and I first met with Kathi, the NP. She was wonderful! She did not give us any negative feedback or have any set rules for us. She knew we wanted to try IUI without any drugs first and she was willing to work with us. Kathi is so caring, kind and empathic and took the time to explain all of the details and answer all of our questions and help us to feel like she and Dr. Albrecht were on our side and willing to do whatever they could. They did all of our testing and procedures in a very timely manner and all of the staff (ultrasound tech, nurse, phlebotomist, administrative staff, Kathi and Dr. Albrecht) were so helpful, supportive and kind throughout everything. Through further testing we did find that I had a few more issues than were originally known and Kathi and Stacy compassionately explained that if we went through with the IUI without any drugs, I would likely miscarry, if I was able to conceive at all, and suggested we take some time to think about the options before moving forward. Again, they worked with us and allowed me to use Letrozole (less side effects) instead of Clomid; and I only needed one round (a few doses of it) along with one round of HCG injections after the IUI procedure. I conceived with my first IUI and I am now 16 weeks pregnant and everything is looking great with the baby. The staff at Albrecht Women's Care took a very traumatic experience and turned it into the most wonderful outcome for my husband and I. I'm so thankful for them and for this truly positive experience! One more thing – they are far more accessible to talk to and for appointments than other clinics!

Stay away!

Nightmare experience. Literally, this clinic may have cost me and my husband our chance at having children, I urge you to look elsewhere. We loved Dr Albrecht from the beginning; he's so kind and patient and thoughtful. But this clinic is very disorganized and we almost always had to double check them because of miscommunication between staff members, not getting back to us in a timely manner, and eventually Laura Padilla (the IVF coordinator who you'd be working with every step of the way) mismanaged our case so severely that we had to cancel our cycle a few days before retrieval, after I'd been on meds for almost two months.

Would not reccomend

Dr. Albrecht us a warm personality as does his staff. We went all the way up too egg retreval and on the day they were to be implanted we arrived at the clinic and Dr. Albrecht was not there. The clinic still had our appointment on their schedule. So, we waited, called his office (as implantation is done at a different location) and the receptionist answered we asked where Dr Albrecht was? She said she would have him call us....As it turned out all of our embryos had died/stopped developing over the weekend and No One Told Us. The last we knew was that we had 10 great embryos! 40 minutes we had been sitting awaiting transplant and we had to call to find out what was happening. We felt like this was very unprofessional to not be told ahewad of time especially because we live 3 hours away. Our appointment was at 10:30in the morning so it wasn't like they didn't have time to call us, it felt was though they had completely forgotten about us. Its not the kind of news you want to receive in such a way. From here we inte d rto use CCRM but they are much more expensive. They were shocked when wwe rtold them what had happened and thought it was unprofessional as well. Dr. Albrecht met with us nearly 3 weeks later and could not tell ius why our embryos failed. He said I needed to gain more weight and not eat a vegetarian diet. I'm not a vegetarian but he kept saying that!? He alsoinsisted that i have a fibroid removed and i did, but now the scar tisaue from it blocked my left tube!!!! Ugh! The whole experience was just depressing and I would not reccomend them.

Me and my husband chose this clinic for our first IVF cycle because we really loved Dr Albrecht's humble, kind, and wise presence. I always try to make the best of things and be positive, but what we went through with this clinic was a total nightmare and I'm saying this with a sense of care and protection for others who are looking for a really safe place to do their IVF, as it's such a difficult and stressful thing to go through! They knew my husband had HEP B for 6 months before our cycle. They asked for his viral load right before starting our medications, after we'd already ordered them, acting as if this was just a formality. Then they let us know, just days away from egg retrieval, after weeks of heavy duty meds, that they couldn't handle his Hep B viral load and that we would should cancel the cycle. We were totally shocked and they had already billed our insurance $9000 for medications! The most upsetting thing was that after admitting to their mistake, Dr Albrecht only made one phone call on our behalf, and by then it was too late to save the cycle. We did many many calls ourselves to see if there was any other clinic who could handle the HEP B and found two, one was 5 minutes from Dr Albrecht's clinic, but they said they would have checked on his viral load 6 months ago and began medications before even starting a cycle with us, and advised us to cancel the cycle too. Both clinics also said the medication protocol Dr Albrecht had us on was not monitored well and wasn't progressing me as well as they would have, both said they would have stopped all suppressant medication days ago, and that despite my high AMF, I only had 8 follicles and estrogen at 66 on day 7 of stims (very low), but Dr Albrecht hadn't said a word, and was away at a conference that whole week . The Albrecht staff was kind, but also very disorganized; one person would say they would tell someone else, and they wouldn't. We always felt we had to babysit them at each step of the way and always felt they were understaffed. Sorry to say, I wouldn't send my worst enemy here :( Sorry to say, after 6 months planning and a month of terrible physical and emotional turbulence, we are starting from scratch, likely with CCRM.
