Great Docs, horrible finance staff!

Your rating: 35 1
Good docs but the finance team is the worst. Lies up and down and billing errors with no resolutions. Regina Kerr especially, very rude and uncouth. The finance manager Lisa is no better. I love the practice but if I would cycle there again I would be asking for another finance person even if it's with another doctor.

Extremely unprofessional - Dr. Stephanie Thompson

Your rating: 15 1
I had a bad feeling about this practice from the get go. When I tried to book an appointment, no one would answer the phone. I finally left a message and no one called me back! I did finally get in touch with someone and made an appointment. Test results came back while Dr. Thompson was on vacation for a week. We have no particular relationship with Dr. Thompson and just needed a doctor to read the results. I was informed that no other doctor was covering. I asked for (1) the results to be faxed to the Livingston office for a doctor there to read them or (2) for the doctor who would be in the Hoboken office later in the week to read the results and get back to us. How come no other doctor can cover??? After calling four times and after 6 days of sitting on the doctor sitting on the results, WE called Dr. Thompson AGAIN and found out very negative news. This is just unacceptable. I cannot imagine going through an extremely emotional, grueling journey with people like this. Save your time and go someplace else.

Very disappointing with my financial coordinator and nurse who did give me wrong day appointment . I think this is the worse for patient . They don't know how we going through this lengthy procedure but they people take as a business .

Irms clark office awesome!

I am so surprised by these bad reviews. If i could give 10 starts i would. Dr. Hessler and her team of nurses and staff made this whole process of iui to ivf very relaxing. The Dr. called me on numerous occasions just to see how I was feeling and would make time to talk to me when I called. I saw the doctor repeated and never felt like i was alone or brushed off. I never felt rushed. Nurse Jennifer I. and I were on the phone daily, she felt like a kind knowledgeable family member. The staff always greeted me by name and with a smile even at 6:30 am. I just can't say enough good things about them.

Horrible experience

Your rating: 15 1
The staff is careless and no one ... Absolutely NO ONE calls you back. And when someone does call you back...wow what an attitude you get from them...as if I was a little shit that bothered them on the most important time of their day. People stay away

My husband and I were unable to receive the results we were hoping for. I am a firm believer that when you no longer have hope and trust in a facility then you should leave, and this is what happened to me. We did several IUI's and IVF cycles. None were successful. While at their facility I experienced two miscarriages and two ectopic pregnancys. The entire four years were met with heartache and unbelievable loss. We were unable to get any answers and when I asked questions it seemed as though I was annoying the staff. I would go for consultations and the doctors would need to be reminded by me about my case and the plan of action. I felt as though they were not taking my case serious. I wasted four years here, four years of fertile time that was slowly dwindling. We scooped up our records and went to another place. I am now holding my little girl! I would like to add that I was successful at the other place the first try. They really took the time to review my case and had several doctors attack the issues I had. Not only was I successful somewhere else three of my friends were also!

Nurse Kim in Hoboken

Your rating: 25 1
I thought I was the only person experiencing rudeness from nurse Kim. I am not comfortable with her providing information to me as I feel she may leave out things or tell me something at the last minute when it's too late to handle the matter or a missed opportunity. She keeps you on a need to know bases so if you don't ask she won't tell you. She really needs to get intune with her job and the patients in Hoboken.

My process has been pretty smooth until the initial IUI. My appointment was for 7:00AM but I was not submitted until 9:00am. i think that's pretty ridiculous of how they process each client.

Response from IRMS at St. Barnabas

On behalf of IRMS physicians and staff we apologize for a less than stellar experience.

We want you to know because of your note we have reviewed the process and realize this is an area upon which we can improve in terms of managing our patient’s expectations. No patient should be told their actual IUI is at 7 AM, rather, that is the scheduled time for the male partner to come in to produce a sample. Male production is not a timed occurrence. Sometimes it is quick and sometimes it is not, and we treat each sample with professionalism and great care. Washing sperm to prepare it for the IUI also takes time as it is a science unto itself and must be done correctly as it makes a difference in the pregnancy rate.

Thank you for your feedback; we really welcome communication from our patients.

Hoboken office

Your rating: 25 1
This place is like an assembly line. Each person has a specific responsibility and if it doesn't fall under their umbrella, they need to refer you to another dept. Having said that, all the receptionists, doctors, finance coordinators, and nurses are very nice, except Nurse KIM, in Hoboken. She could be nice when relaying information, but god forbid you ask her a question. Her response can be condescending and curt. Also, you need to be on top of your case, or things like ordering your meds can fall through the cracks. I agree with previous post about her attitude problem.

highly disappointed with staff and doctors in Hoboken office

Your rating: 15 1
I have gone though a successful IVF cycle once in 2013 but even then the doctors and nurse staff was very rude and careless. They won't remind you for blood works , forget to prescribe medicines on time resulting in missing certain cycles et . I went again for FET cycle this year and now they are even worse , nurse KIM is horrible, she is always in a bad mood and taking out on patients . She again missed to give me prescription this time and forgot to tell me to come for blood work. I am switching to a different hospital . I will suggest please go somewhere else.

Great care. Bad accounting

Your rating: 45 1
We had a successful treatment at the Livingston center. The doctor spends ~2 hours with on your first visit and then poof, she is gone for the rest of the procedure. However, despite this, their team based approach is so well oiled that everything is smooth. I have always had the nurse call me same day with my bloodwork results. They are extremely reachable on the phone and via email and communicate very well overall. I did not feel like the doctors needed to see me. I was comfortable with the team. The doctors do get involved when you have procedures done (ER and ET) for that 10-15 mins that it takes to do the procedure. However, it may not always be the doc you consulted with on day 1. It may be anyone of the 6 who is on call that day. The biggest problem I faced was that I was billed incorrectly one time. Then, that did not get automatically corrected the next time and there was spill over of the mistake into the next bill. So this was very frustrating to sort through. Thanks to my accounting background, I was able to reconcile the bills after enormous effort. As long as you don't have to deal with the finance dept, you should be good. But do pay close attention to your bills.

The worst ever experience

Your rating: 15 1
I went to IRMS with very high expectations but was totally disappointed with the way they handled my case. I started my visits with Dr. Greenseid and after a couple of visits I was thinking of moving to another doctor in NY as I was quite unsatisfied with her. But as I was planning to move she left the hospital and I thanked my stars for this change. After some research I decided to stick with IRMS as they were transitioning me to Dr. Garrisi. I met Dr. Garrisi and found her to be knowledgable and was very happy after my first visit. But that's the only time I met her or she bothered to meet me. During my embryo transfer day, she was on duty and I saw her in the same area, was expecting she ll be doing my embryo transfer but to my surprise she did not even bother to see me and check how I was doing. I thought she was my doctor. Well, I must say it's quite a business for them. My experience with the nurse was not pleasant either She was unsympathetic and always rude. Always talking as if doing a Favour to me. Given the amount of stress I was going through, she made my experience all the more worse. I always had to follow up with her on the medicines and she was never proactive in taking care of things. Well last but not the least I had a question on the bills I received and spoke with the director of finance related to my last bill that I had to pay to IRMS. This lady asked me to take out my credit card and pay the same time, when I had just asked her a question. There was no discussion at all on the payment from my side as I was planning to pay the same afternoon . I thought this was really cheap of her. I can only say that each patient is just a number for them and they have no empathy for the people involved. I would not recommend anyone to go to IRMS after the kind of experience I had with them.

Very satisfied
