IVF

Worst experience of my life, went through the first portion of IVF and they didn't give me enough medication so my eggs were not mature enough to continue with the rest of the IVF. And guess what they still sent me a bill and took $1000 off, which is nothing when you are spending that kind of money, the Dr. admitted they made the mistake and now they won't even give me the time of day when I call to try and settle this. But they'll give us a discount if we want to try again! Vomit... seriously!! I wouldn't trust you guys ever! This place is nasty looking and they just get you in and out as quick as possible. They show no compassion and are horrible at returning your call, since you can only leave a voicemail. I would not recommend this place at all! Zero is my rating!

Unorganized & Frustrating

Honestly, the Jones Institute has been one of the most frustrating doctor experiences I've ever had. I am still working with them--they do have a great (medical) reputation--but I cannot recommend them. My regular OB had sent my husband there for SA and I live really close, so it made sense to go to them when I was moving to a specialist. Here are the top issues: (1) They do not review your information (ever): At 1st appt, they thought we were there for male infertility even though we said I had PCOS when we made the appt and they had done his SA. Every time they call me back, I have to give them an overview of all my interactions w/them, all the medicine they've prescribed, and what they told me the next steps would be even when I've left that info in a voicemail and it *should* be in my chart. It's like starting over each time, which is a little scary. (2) Getting responses from them is very difficult: After 1st appt, they said they would call Mon to let me know if they wanted me to cancel a surgery I had scheduled. Left messages Mon, Tues, and Wed at which point I had to cancel surgery since cancellation required 24 hr notice. Jones returned call on Wed but didn't know answer to question (see #1) and didn't confirm that I needed to cancel surgery until Thurs. Jones regularly takes 3-5 business days to return calls (VM only), which is difficult since fertility stuff tends to be time sensitive. Online email portal is a joke; have never received response. (3) Prescribing medication is very unorganized: Was told one dosage in doctor's office but pharmacy label showed different dosage. Took several days (see #2) to find out which was correct, delaying the start of the medication. Another time, called to find out if I should start taking a medicine and nurse asked me how long I had been on it. I had to explain that THEY had prescribed it. Any time they prescribe something now, I'm slightly concerned they will kill me with some incorrect dosage or drug interaction. . . . I had read that Jones wasn't a very personable experience but I don't really care about the warm fuzzies or getting along with my doctor. I DO care about my doctor being competent, organized, and responsive. It's especially exacerbated because my regular OB's office is all of those things but I'm at the point in my treatments where I need a specialist. I'll update my review if things get better.

Horrible communication.

Very poor communication. I was told test results take 7-10 days. It's been three weeks and still no word. Also, I have left multiple messages but nobody will return my calls. No opportunity to speak to a doctor of doctors assistant, all calls are routed to an answering service that nobody seems to be monitoring. I wish I could give them less than one star for this rating.

HORRIBLE

This was the worst experience of my life! From the very beginning it was like herding cattle. I asked to speak with my doctor 3 times and NEVER did. I was told the wrong amount of medicine for 3 days. When I called to ask about it the nurses didn't even know what to tell me. And 3 times my calls werent even returned! I wasn't told how well I was progressing throughout the process. I never met the surgical doctor like I was told I would. I had 9 eggs fertilized. 6 progressed. I went back to have 2 placed, expecting to pay to freeze the rest. It was never brought up. I call FIVE days later, I CALLED THEM, to find out about them and when I paid for the freeze only to be told they didn't make it. No explaination, just they didn't make it. I went in for my pregnancy test and expressed my emotion about how I don't feel like I was treated like a patient but more like a number. One nurse said that they hear that all the time. Another told me that they were understaffed and she was sorry. Not the place to be understaffed! Finally, all I recieved was a insincere phone to tell me that it didn't work and I wasn't pregnant. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I would never go back there!
