This place is awful!!! DO NOT GO HERE FOR FERTILITY TREATMENTS!! I made the mistake of doing so and I deeply regret it! They are horrible to deal with in every way shape and form. Find some other place, any other place.!! They DO NOT care about their patients, they only care about $$$$. They treat you like a number, not a person. They only see you as a cash cow!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

My experience at RMA was great. IVF is not an easy process but the Dr. McAvey is really kind and straightforward. I ended up interacting with so many different nurses and even other doctors at different locations (going in before work in Brooklyn, on the weekends uptown etc) and everyone was very informative and supportive. I also found them very clear and straight forward with instructions, recommendations and responsiveness. The communication between the locations is seamless. This holds true for pharmacy they use as well. I was very lucky and got pregnant on our first round of IVF, I felt that the doctors and nurses were spot on the whole time. We now have a beautiful 3 month old girl.

Dr. Lederman is a knowledgeable, kind, and competent provider. I had success with my first round of IVF and now have my wonderful baby girl. Martha Fennessy, the nurse practitioner at RMA, is also very helpful and prompt in her response time, which is important when going through IVF. I would recommend Dr. Lederman at RMA to anyone experiencing fertility issues.

Would strongly advise against using this clinic

I went with RMA for IVF for gender selection (elective) because a) someone recommended them, and b) they see so many patients, I was more willing to trust their collective experience. A few anecdotes:...... ***(1) The process started off on the wrong foot when they assigned an IVF coordinator that was working part-time through her maternity leave. This meant that it would take her 2-3 days to get back to me on any issue, and there were some pressing ones. A patient can never reach her doctor or nurse, all communication goes through the front desk that answers phones or the IVF coordinator. ***(2) I had to get a procedure done on a certain day of my cycle. I was given a referral but I left it at home by accident. When I got to the hospital I was told that they cannot perform the procedure without the referral. I couldn't reschedule it because it was the last day in the cycle I could do the procedure (I would have had to lose a month if I didn't do it that day). The hospital called RMA to have the referral faxed. I waited for 2.5 hours for them to do it - nothing, despite several calls. I emailed the IVF coordinator as well, but no response. I finally had my nanny find the paper and send me a photo of it, and was able to get the procedure done that way. ***3) I did one cycle and failed. Since my egg retrieval I have been in enormous amounts of pain for weeks - I feel like my ovaries are going to explode. I tried reaching my doctor but he won't call me back, although I did receive a call from a nurse after I specifically told the front desk person that answered my call that I did not want to speak with a nurse, rather with the doctor directly. ***4) When the doctor called me to give me the bad news about results, I asked him if they would give a discount should I decide to do another round. I was paying cash and at nearly 25k per cycle, it adds up. He assured me that they would, that he would speak with the finance manager and have them call me with the answer. After a silence of a couple of weeks, I reached out to my finance coordinator, but she knew nothing about this. After speaking to her manager she informed me that they won't be able to discount me even a dollar, aside from the credit I had on file (money I had paid for the embryo transfer, even though no such transfer occurred - 3k). I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said she will have her call me. Haven't heard from them since. *****Bottom line: RMA has zero focus on patient care and patient well-being. They simply don't care. My IVF experience with them was very unpleasant, extremely frustrating at times, and I would not recommend it to anyone. I did an elective procedure and I simply cannot imagine someone doing this out of necessity and adding the amount of stress to the process that I had to undergo dealing with this clinic.

RMANY is all about the MONEY. I don't have the same complaints as other patients about responsiveness of doctors and staff. For me, this office seemed more about getting paid than about taking care of the patients. After a year of infertility and miscarriages, my OB/GYN referred me here. Based on discussions with my MD, my partner and I decided not to move forward with IVF immediately. I told the office that I was NOT doing IVF. They still sent me a demand for a $10,000 payment two months in a row. After we did get pregnant, RMANY did early pregnancy monitoring because I am high-risk. I ask specifically that they use a lab authorized by my insurance carrier more than once. They did not, which cost me a lot out-of-pocket. Then, I got a call from a woman in their "Finance Department" talking a mile-a-minute. She told me I owed $1,500 and I needed to pay it immediately or I would be sent to collections. They hadn't even sent me an invoice. Finance didn't want to let me off the phone without getting a CC number from me. I am not paying for services that have not even been billed to me yet.
