Highly recommend Dr. Flisser

I've worked with Dr. Flisser twice, once to freeze eggs when I was 35 and more recently with my husband when we had trouble conceiving on our own. We went through 2 IVF (w/ICSI) cycles with Dr. Flisser and for both decided to do PGS as well. We're now due with a baby boy in a couple of months. I know others who have had infertility challenges and one thing I like most about Dr. Flisser's approach is that he covers all the bases up front. In other words, we did IVF (w/ICSI) with PGS on our first cycle rather than trying IUI and then the next time trying IVF and then the next time trying IVF with PGS which is what some friends who worked with other clinics/doctors experienced. I also liked that Dr. Flisser performed complete testing up front so that we knew everything we may be challenged with early and could address early. Dr. Flisser's demeanor is pretty direct and to the point, which I really liked because I wasn't given false promises or hope, just the facts in what was already an emotional time. I would recommend Dr. Flisser over and over again and plan to work with him again in a few years when we're ready for baby number 2.

RMANY bad experience

My experience with RMANY was very negative both on a medical and on a administrative point of view. We went through a Cryo All Cycle due to a not severe male infertility factor after TTC for about 2 years and after 2 failed IUI. My stimulation was good, 14 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilized. They were doing good the first days, after day 3 they all stopped and just one made it to day 6 but we later found out it had a monosomy. Dr. Flisser was not able to give an explanation for the day 3 failures of 9 embryos and proposed to do another cycle the same way. I asked for a more advanced procedure called IMSI (similar to ICSI but with a more precise sperm selection) and at RMANY they don't even have idea of what it is. Being Italians we decided to try another clinic in Italy, where they perform IMSI and have very good experience with male infertility. We realized how superficial they were at RMANY. At RMANY they performed half the tests and screenings we did in Italy. When in Italy they found common bacteria both in my vaginal swab and my husband semen, we were treated with antibiotics for 1 week and repeat the tests as they were not going to proceed until we were bacteria free. At RMANY we were not even tested and we just both took antibiotics the day before the retrieval. It is proven that the presence of bacteria affects the DNA of forming embryos. Apart from this I think that RMANY lab is not good as I heard other similar experiences with many day 3 embryos failures. My stimulation in Italy was similar to the one I had at RMANY, they retrieved 10 eggs, 7 were fertilized and 5 made it to day 6, they did the biopsy on all 5 and frozen and now we are waiting for the genetic results. Our journey is not over but going from 1 embryo to 5 gave us back the hope we had lost. On an administrative point of view the staff is even more superficial. They first told as our insurance was going to cover all the meds and the day I was supposed to start injections they said it was not so I had to run to a local pharmacy and pay in full (if I had known in advance I could have got them in Internet were they are cheaper). Then they messed up with my primary and secondary insurances, sending wrong claims and I had to write tons of emails to solve this. I had to pay the entire cycle out of pocket and then it took me almost 3 moths to get my refund for the embryo transfer we were never able to perform as we had no embryos to transfer. (In Italy you pay step by step as you proceed they don't ask you to pay the full amount before starting). Dealing with infertility is already very stressful, but at least you want to be sure that the doctor is trying his/her best to help you, using all the attention and professionalism possible. For many couples only one attempt is financially possible and they should be confident that they are receiving the best treatments and services.

Dr. Eric Flisser. I like to call him the HACK! Too inexperienced, Ran my insurance up sky high trying to convince me IUIs would work - gave me 3 - and by the way IUIs dont work. Then said I had a tumor on my left ovary and surgically removed more than 80% of a working ovary. Don't let him operate on you. Don't let him treat you for infertility either. He will run your insurance to see how much he can get for the firm and doesn't matter what he puts you through. I was able to get pregnant and give birth to twins 11 months later by going to Dr Tsai in Queens. NOW DR TSAI IN QUEENS, NY - HE IS A ROCK STAR FERTILITY DR.
